World of MMA Episode 16
“Freddie Roach doesn’t know a lot of MMA, this isn’t boxing.” -Dream Middleweight Grand Prix Champion Gegard Mousasi responds to Roach’s statements made about his teammate Fedor Emelianenko along with what is next in 2009 for the “Rising Star” on episode 16 of the World of MMA Show.Also on this edition is an intro to UFC 93 and Affliction: Day of Reckoning which will host Fedor Emelianenko square off with Andrei Arlovski for the World Alliance of Mixed Martial Arts Heavy Weight title.
Gegard Mousasi is currently under contract to M-1 Management who is the same company responsible for Fedor Emelianenko’s management. Mousasi currently fights at the middleweight division and when asked about who he would like to fight if he was not limited to organizations, Gegard replied, “Anderson Silva because he is the best middleweight in the world.”
Freddie Roach recently made some comments about Fedor’s boxing ability and Gegard recently had some words of his own to say about the matter. “It’s not a beauty contest. Freddy Roach doesn’t know a lot about MMA, this isn’t boxing.” Mousasi went on about Fedor’s boxing ability to say, “When he[fedor] hits you he hits hard so I don’t know what Freddy Roach is talking about.”
The Dream Middleweight Grand Prix Champion will be making a different wake in 2009 in a new division. The M-1 fighter has recently signed to participate in the next Affliction show which has not yet been announced yet.
In 2009 Mousasi plans on stepping up in weight to Light Heavy or perhaps Heavy weight to take on some bigger opponents. “I’m moving up a division and I will have more power,” is what the Dream champ responded about his goals in 09′.
